Hibernian fans have lauded Rangers loanee, Greg Docherty, after he starred in their 5-2 Scottish Cup hammering of Inverness Caley Thistle on Friday night.

The 23-year-old left Ibrox in January in search of playing opportunities, having failed to make a Gers matchday squad since mid-August.

You would never know he had spent so much time away from competitive action though, based on how impressive he’s been so far at Easter Road.

He’s already racked up three goals and a handful of assists for his adopted side, with one of each coming last night.

Docherty netted the home side’s third in the 71st minute, taking one touch to control a cutback before firing low and hard into the bottom left corner.

He then turned provider ten minutes later, setting up Stephane Omeonga to make it 4-1.

The game would go on to finish 5-2 with Hibs booking a spot in a Scottish Cup semi-final and although it was against Championship opposition, it was another standout display from the midfielder.

His efforts haven’t gone unnoticed by the Easter Road faithful and many are already imploring him to sign a permanent deal in the summer.

Here’s a selection of reactions to his celebratory tweet after the game:
