Hearts v Rangers: Three changes predicted for Gers

Hearts v Rangers is always a boisterous affair, particularly when we meet them on the road.

We dumped the Maroons 3-1 in October, inflicting their first defeat of the season. At Tynecastle, it might not be quite so routine for Rangers.

Hearts pride has taken a battering over the last little while. Hammered by Celtic, hopeless against St. Mirren, their early season form has stopped with all the abruptness of a runaway Edinburgh tram hitting a bollard.

They’re down on their luck and need a big result. Craig Levein is convinced this can be it. There’s been plenty of fighting talk in the run up to this game too.

For Rangers, we’re coming off the back of a massive night on Thursday. We defended like true warriors and dug out a result. It also helps one of the best goalies around has our back.

Are these the three changes to send us top?

For this one, I expect Gerrard to ring a few changes. In defence, I predict McAuley and Barisic to come in for Worrall and Flanagan. McAuley’s experience will be invaluable here. We simply need Borna Bear back in the squad. The news is he’s fit and raring to go. If he is, he has to go in, but will it be too early for him?

In the middle, Ejaria will come back in for Coulibaly and offer a little more creativity. The front three deserve another shot at it today. Middleton, Morelos and Candeias have a good understanding and I think it’d be hasty to take any of them out of the team.

If I was to make one, it’d be Middleton for Grezda as the Albanian looks to reclaim his place. But would he play with the same passion as Middleton in a difficult ground?

This is a huge game. Win, we go top. Lose, we’ll be fourth. It’s that close.

Hearts v Rangers at Tynecastle is all set to serve up a Christmas Cracker to celebrate the beginning of advent.

Is this the team to help us come out on top?
