Aberdeen legend Andrew Considine found himself on the receiving end of a hiding from Rangers plenty of times in his long career.

But it didn’t stop the 37-year-old lamenting the Dons’ latest Ibrox collapse as Rangers thumped Aberdeen 3-0 in the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers were on red hot form to ditch the Pittodrie club but Andrew Considine claims the Gers didn’t have to be ‘brilliant’ to dispatch the lacklustre Dandies.

The former Aberdeen defender has also criticised his former club for ‘lacking fight’ as Rangers ran all over the northeast club at Ibrox.

Rangers ‘didn’t have to be brilliant’ to beat Aberdeen

Speaking on Sky Sports at full-time, Andrew Considine lamented Aberdeen’s lack of ‘energy’ in the defeat to Rangers.

Aberdeen had managed to cling on in the game until the final moments, with Rangers holding a slender lead through Hamza Igamane’s first half goal.

Leon Balogun and Cyriel Dessers made the scoreline more realistic in injury time after a number of spurned Rangers opportunities.

Considine lamented Aberdeen’s failure to deal with crosses into the box, with the Gers eventually reaping their rewards when Balogun nodded in at the back post.

”If you look at two of the goals,” started Considine.

“The first goal, mistake, the third one unfortunately is a slip then obviously Dessers fresh legs running at you one-v-one and it’s a good finish.

”Rangers didn’t have to be brilliant tonight.

”As a team there was no energy, we didn’t go toe-to-toe with them, as Kris said we were passive.

”The mountain of opportunities they got down both sides, both wings, getting balls into the box.

”Then once Leon Balogun came on you could see it. First corner that came in he got on the end of it.

”End of kind of ball that came in we couldn’t defend and he does, he goes and gets his goal.”

Andrew Considine laments ‘lack of fight’ v Rangers

Andrew Considine has also claimed that Aberdeen ‘lacked fight’ in the defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

The ‘disappointed’ former Dons centre-back went on to claim that it was the ‘final ball’ that let Aberdeen down against the Gers at Ibrox.

”It’s disappointing to watch because there have been Aberdeen teams that have come down here and gone toe-to-toe and got something,” said Considine.

”But we lacked a little bit of fight, not a little bit of fight, we lacked a lot of fight to be honest with you and it’s disappointing to see.

”There were moments, small moments in the second half when we got into good positions but it was just the final ball.

”I think that was the story for Aberdeen a lot of the night, just the final ball.“
