When Northern Irish international Kyle Lafferty returned to Ibrox in the summer, it was to generally mixed reviews.
Some felt the striker let the club and supporters down in the aftermath of 2012. Others believed it was a shrewd signing of someone who knows the club and league.
There was even some who felt the player wasn’t good enough to come back and have an impact at Ibrox. And they clashed with those who believed we’d pulled off a strong signing.

But whatever people’s views of Lafferty prior to the season kicking off, fans will be almost unanimous now. Lafferty has not even begun to do enough in his second spell in a Rangers shirt.
He hasn’t come close to replicating his form for Hearts in Glasgow. It’s a real shame.
The player loves Rangers. He undoubtedly would relish the chance to be part of any success here. But his application is reportedly lacking.
Lafferty is said to be one of three signings from this season that are set to be shipped on come the summer [originally the Herald]. Along with Borna Barisic and Eros Grezda, Lafferty risked the ire of Steven Gerrard after a poor performance in a bounce game last week.

Now it seems as if it has Gerrard has pulled the final straw. Lafferty’s Rangers future hangs in the balance.
And whilst fans were split over his signing in the first place, we undoubtedly all wanted the same thing.
We wanted the likeable Northern Irish striker to come back in, work hard and take his chance. But on recent showings and with recent reports, it really looks like he’s blown that chance instead.
