Kyle Lafferty has been forced to publicly deny selling his medal from Norwich’s Play-off victory in 2014/15.

The striker was on-loan in the latter half of the season but played 18 times earning him the accolade.

The big Northern Irish striker was very surprised after a Twitter follower alerted him they were on sale on eBay.

He categorically denied selling the medal.

“I will always keep it”

During a Twitter exchange Lafferty answered a Norwich fan who linked the auction. In the message, he suggested Lafferty give the medal back to the club and put it up for auction as opposed to sell it on eBay. Lafferty leaped to his own defence saying, “Don’t know how my name is mentioned in this but I’ve still got my medal and will always keep it with the rest of my medals.”

He then went on to tell the supporter that the medals categorically weren’t his.

And that he’d get to the bottom of what was going on.

Could Lafferty be the victim of an online scam?

The Ulsterman is likely to have been the victim of an online scam. Either that, or the person who’s selling the medal has been the victim of a scam himself.

It’s all a bit fishy but fair play to Laff for coming out and fronting up to the issue. The idea he’d sell his medal for bids starting at £370 is majorly disrespectful to his old club Norwich and their fans.

It’s not in keeping with the man Rangers fans know and love and hopefully it gets sorted soon.

Why would he lie? Lafferty has been honest about overcoming worse in the past.
