As the dust settles on the international break, it’s time for Rangers fans to sit themselves down and strap themselves in for what could be the defining month of the Ibrox club’s season, kicking off against Hamilton.

The club’s players have enjoyed what has been a largely fruitful two weeks on international duty but club football returns this weekend.

The match against the Accies kicks off a crunch run of 10 games, with the next five weeks or so seeing Rangers face Celtic twice (once in the Betfred Cup Final), travelling to Pittodrie and Easter Road and partaking in two make or break matches in the Europa League.

If Rangers can come out of the next period successfully, it bodes incredibly well going into the final half of the campaign.

The prospect of adding that first piece of major silverware since 2012 is a tantalising one for supporters.

To do it against our biggest rivals would make it even sweeter.

The club is also vying to earn a spot in the knockout rounds of European competition for the first time since 2011.

A victory over Feyenoord in Rotterdam or against BSC Young Boys at Ibrox will guarantee the club’s place in the last 32 of the Europa League.

As well as that, we want to be best placed when it comes to the winter break in the Scottish Premiership.

That may well come down to getting a positive result against Celtic at Parkhead.

It’s time for the club’s supporters to gear up for what will potentially be one of the most important periods in Rangers’ history, never mind season.

Here’s our XI to get us underway against Hamilton.

We reckon that Gerrard won’t risk Filip Helander, Steven Davis or Scott Arfield after intense international breaks.
