Graham Spiers has examined new footage following the Scottish Cup quarter-final between Rangers and Celtic.

Having gone through that particular piece of film, the journalist who has been featured in the Scottish Daily Mail and Sunday Times, has called out the Celtic fans for their antics at Ibrox.

Thus far, nine arrests have been made, but there are expected to be more in the coming days as Police Scotland continue with their investigations.

Graham Spiers slams ‘disgusting’ Celtic fans for overpowering stewards

Spiers, who is known to be of a Celtic persuasion, has called out the actions of the away fans on Sunday.

He claims to have accessed certain footage that shows around 30 Hoops fans overpowering stewards inside the stadium.

By doing so, they managed to force their way past the turnstiles and into the stands, wreaking total havoc.

Sharing screenshots of his Patreon article on X, Spiers wrote: “What was thoroughly disgusting at Ibrox on Sunday was the sight of these – again, young – Celtic fans bursting through the disabled access door and successfully gaining entry to the game without tickets.

“In one particular piece of film around 20 or 30 of them simply overpowered helpless stewards and barged their way into the arena.”

What can Rangers fans expect the club’s official statement to be?

Thus far, neither Rangers nor Celtic have issued statements about the incidents that unfolded on Sunday.

The Gers continued to post on social media as per normal, but then backtracked following fan backlash.

However, there is expected to be a statement in the coming days, as such things cannot go on unaddressed.

They would obviously need to condemn the hateful and unacceptable behaviour from both sets of fans for the damage caused to individuals as well as property.

It is also important to mention that work is ongoing with various officials to ensure that such things never happen again.

They would need to mention the Scottish FA, Police Scotland, and potentially hold meetings with them in order to decide what is the best way to proceed.

While the supporters groups have called out the police for their inadequacies in terms of preparation, the club as an entity are not expected to do the same.
