Graham Dorrans has “gone back to see the surgeon” after another injury setback in training this week.
Steven Gerrard revealed the midfielder had been pegged back in an interview with the Daily Record. It’s a major blow for the 31-year-old. Graham Dorrans Rangers career has been blighted with injury so far and it’s meant he’s never really had the chance to impress for his boyhood heroes.
That’s despite Gerrard saying he would play a key role for the team this season.
There’s been no mention of how long he’ll be out. But surgery is normally bad news.

Dorrans has spent almost a year out already
The midfielder is Rangers through-and-through. The former Livingston, Norwich and Scotland midfielder is also a creative player. He’s also a very technical, creative footballer.
Dorrans showed glimpses of his quality last season. A long-range late equaliser against Partick Thistle being the highlight.
But after an injury last October against Kilmarnock, Dorrans has barely kicked a ball in the last year. He reappeared at the end of last season but such was the feeling around the club and team, he struggled to make an impact.

He then picked up a knee injury in pre-season which meant he’s struggled for fitness this year. Dorrans did have a nice camero against Villarreal, and he played in the 4-0 dismantling of Ayr United.
But we’ve yet to see the best of the midfielder.
A Pedro Caixinha signing which offered real promise, will the midfielder still have a role to play at the club when he eventually returns from injury?
