Graeme Shinnie could snub Rangers for Luton Town – report

According to a Daily Express report, Aberdeen captain, Graeme Shinnie, is a target for EFL League One club, Luton Town.
The £765k rated midfielder’s contract expires in the summer and he’s therefore free to explore moves elsewhere.

Rangers had been touted as a likely destination, on a pre-contract deal.
However, this report dismisses the plausibility of those links.

Instead, it suggests that a lucrative move South of the border is on the cards.
Luton may currently be a third tier club, but they are five points clear at the top of the league.
If they can maintain their current form, they will be playing Championship football next season.

With that, will come a spike in resources.

What’s more, it’s not as if Shinnie would be taking a huge leap of faith with a move to Kenilworth Road.
A very familiar face is there already.
His brother, Andrew, has been a regular for the Hatters this season, featuring in all but four of their 38 league fixtures.

At a time when Rangers look to need more leadership in the side, some may view it as a blow, should Shinnie not move to Ibrox.
Yet, Steven Gerrard already has a raft of midfielders on the books.
With the likes of Greg Docherty and Jordan Rossiter to return from loan spells in the summer, reinforcements are already coming in that area.
