A Slavia Prague director has lavished Rangers and Ibrox Stadium with praise as he salutes one of the most iconic and unique arenas in global football.
Tomáš Syrovátka is the Czech side’s vice-president and has been all over Europe in recent seasons following the club who have faced off against the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter Milan over the last three years alone.
But according to Syrovátka, he has been “nowhere” quite like Ibrox in glowing comments about the club’s stadium, history and identity.
“We travelled through Europe, but nowhere, nowhere, nowhere have I experienced such a stadium,” tweeted Syrovátka.
“Incredible, enchanting history. Never rebuild it.”
This is even higher praise given the sorts of venues that Slavia have visited in recent seasons, Stamford Bridge, the Camp Nou and even the San Siro not getting the same billing.
Ibrox Stadium is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable football arenas in the global game and it wonderful to see a rival European side drink in the history and appreciate it like this.
Having such an iconic ground makes us a real pull for European sides and Slavia manager Jindřich Trpišovský even praised the “beautiful stadium” even prior to last week’s match in Prague [Glasgow Times].
Rangers are preparing to face the Czech Champions for a place in the Europa League quarterfinals with the match neatly poised at 1-1.
The away goal gives the Gers the advantage and the man who kept Rangers’ noses in front has also been earning the acclaim of the Slavia backroom staff.
