Before Allan McGregor’s 89th-minute brain fade against Hibernian last weekend, it looked as though Wes Foderingham wouldn’t play again for Rangers this season. Or possibly even, ever again.
The 28-year-old’s future remains uncertain. He still has a year remaining on his Ibrox contract [Transfermarkt].

However, in an interview with Sky Sports, he explained that he sees himself as a no.1 ‘keeper and therefore, won’t be prepared to sit on the bench forever.
Since McGregor’s return though, he’s been
very much an understudy, making just six appearances before Sunday’s Old Firm.
If he is to leave in the summer, though, at least he finally got to taste a league win against Celtic.
He’s been at the club since 2015, and this was the first time he’s been between the sticks during a league victory.
On several occasions, he’s been in Rangers teams on the end of drubbings. This time, it was a whole different story.

Rather than picking the ball out of his own net with regularity, Fods was a near spectator until around ten minutes from the end.
Then, when he was drawn into action by Oliver Burke, he was equal to the task, pulling off a fine reaction stop.
The victory and clean sheet must taste extra sweet given what has gone before for the Englishman.
Shortly after the game, he took to Twitter to celebrate with a glorious message and a photo from the game.

“Glasgow is BLUE”.
Fods has been an excellent servant during his time at Ibrox, and he deserved that one.
