Steven Gerrard, as quoted by the Scotsman, has suggested that Lassana Coulibaly still has a role to play at Rangers.
Over the first half of the season, the Angers loanee made 25 appearances.
After starting like a house on fire, his form undoubtedly dipped. Apparently a favourite of the manager’s though, he was able to retain a regular spot in the team.

However, since then, the Gers have recruited.
The additions of Steven Davis and then
Since the winter break, he has made only a solitary start, in the Scottish Cup, against Cowdenbeath.
Furthermore, in the SPL, he’s played just 30 minutes in 2019.

Recent developments suggest an opportunity may be just around the corner, though.
Ryan Jack picked up a knock against Aberdeen and Davis has fallen out of favour.
Coulibaly ‘fighting’ for a spot
“The midfield area has fierce competition for places right now”, said Gerrard, as quoted by the Scotsman.
“We’ve also got Lassana and Ross (McCrorie) making it very difficult for me in training.”
“They are at it, fighting to be involved.”

Coulibaly’s efforts certainly aren’t being missed by the manager.
It’s clear that he’s still very much in Gerrard’s thoughts and could be under consideration to feature against Hibs tonight.
Last time Rangers were at Easter Road, he played the full 90 minutes.
In what will likely be a physical affair, will Gerrard be tempted to throw him back in?
It’s unlikely he will start, but he could be find himself in the match day squad.
