He is only a few months into his first season as manager, but Rangers fans will hope that Steven Gerrard stays for years to come.
The 38-year-old may be in his first senior managerial role, but he consistently says the right things. What’s more, there is the sense that he isn’t just saying it because he knows the Gers fans will lap it up.

The man genuinely believes it and loves this club already.
In this afternoon’s press conference ahead of the SPL fixture against Aberdeen, it was more of the same. He was asked in the early stages to reflect on the win that sent his side top of the SPL.
He initially refused to be drawn on Craig Levein’s rant about the referee providing assistance to the Gers. However, he did mention one issue that he saw with the Hearts manager’s comments.

‘The only mistake i seen in the interview, was that it was really 14 (men, rather than 13) because our fans were superb on the day’, the ex-Liverpool captain said.
He then went on to comment on the uniqueness of that Rangers support.
‘They (the players) have to realise what they’ve got here. They’re at a fantastic club, the fans adore them.’

‘I know sometimes its inviting to look over the fence and look around to maybe see if there’s something out there better. But, realise what you’ve got here.’
Spoken like any true Gers fan.
Gerrard has an awareness of what it means to represent the club’s badge. Having played all around the globe, he can say with certainty that there are not many places in world football where players receive as much love as they do at Ibrox.
