Steven Gerrard was short and sharp in ruling out two major transfer rumours that have been circulating around the club.
The Rangers boss didn’t pull any punches when asked about Ravel Morrison and Adam Lallana. In fact, he dispelled the rumours in only five words.
“There’s no truth in either.”
Ravel Morrison had Rangers fans excited after following the club and several key figures on Instagram.
It spawned several stories and discussions on the troubled midfielder. With his contract up at the end of the season and the former Man U talent seemingly surplus to requirements at Lazio, a deal seemed plausible.
Gerrard moved quickly to put a pin in any transfer talk concerning the player.
Adam Lallana was a much more ambitious option for the Gers. The midfielder has struggled with injuries this season but is still held in high regard at Anfield. That said, at 30 he needs to play and there is big competition at Liverpool.
Rangers were installed as joint favourites for his signature, but that looks like where the story began and ended. Even if Barry Ferguson got himself excited by the prospect.
