Steven Gerrard has given the biggest hint yet that three first-team players are on their way out of Ibrox.
Kyle Lafferty, Graham Dorrans, and Eros Grezda were all left out of the squad which travelled to Portugal for a pre-season training camp on Thursday [Daily Record].

Lafferty

The Northern Ireland international looks to be on his way out after just one season back in Glasgow. He struggled to force his way into the manager’s plans last season, mainly featuring off the bench.
Now, after reported interest from Apollon Limassol [Scottish Sun] and talks over his future, his time looks up.

Dorrans

The 32-year-old is finally fit again after being plagued by injuries since his arrival in 2017.
Yet, despite playing a full part in pre-season so far, he’s no longer in the manager’s plans. This will likely come as something of a shock for the ex-West Brom star. However, with so many options in midfield, he will be moved on.

Grezda

The Albanian international winger endured a horror first season. Now, it looks near certain he won’t get a chance to put things right.
His agent claimed last week he wouldn’t be joining the squad on this trip [Scottish Sun] and things have played out as expected.
Grezda has hardly played any football in 2019 and is searching for a new club.

Verdict

Gerrard has shown a ruthless streak by excluding all three of these players from the camp.
After bringing in so many players across the last three windows, though, the time has come to streamline the squad.
Considering all those in question have at least a year remaining on their Ibrox contracts, let’s hope they will all command fees. Grezda cost the club a reported £2 million last summer [Scottish Sun] and they’ll be hoping to recoup their investment.
