Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has completed his UEFA Pro Licence after, what the Gers boss called, an 18-month “journey.”
Gerrard shared images on his Instagram from the graduation ceremony as he received his diploma from former England manager Steve McClaren.
Gerrard completed the course alongside the likes of former Man Utd goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel, ex-Old Trafford coach Paul McGuinness, Colchester United’s performance director Jon De Souza and Derby County’s Academy director Darren Wassall.
The Gers boss spent part of his time on the course attending last summer’s Toulon Tournament shortly after taking the reins at Ibrox.
Gerrard has regularly travelled south of the border as part of his Pro Licence course, under the guidance of the FA, and the Gers boss now holds the highest coaching badge available.
With Gerrard now fully up to date with his badges, it only adds to the wealth of knowledge in the Gers dugout with both Gerrard and his assistant Gary McAllister both having had fantastic playing careers before going into coaching, while the likes of Mick Beale, Tom Culshaw and Jordan Milsom all have outstanding backgrounds at the very highest level of the game.
After starting the Pro Licence course months before he’d even held talks with Rangers, it certainly has been quite the journey for Gerrard in the last 18 months.
