On Thursday morning, as followed by the Rangers Twitter account, Steven Gerrard and Jermain Defoe addressed a press conference.
Just hours previously, Rangers had hammered Kilmarnock 5-0 to progress to the quarter-final of the Scottish Cup.
With last night’s events in mind, the first port of call was Steve Clarke.
After the game, the Killie boss expressed his disappointment at the referee and at alleged comments made towards him by fans at Ibrox.
During the presser, Gerrard was quick to distance the club from abuse of any kind.
“The club has issued a statement and we don’t support any kind of unacceptable behaviour from the terraces”, he said as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account.

Simultaneously, he also suggested that himself and Clarke have put their recent differences aside.
The two clashed recently, after the Killie boss suggested Jermain Defoe should get retrospective punishment for an alleged dive against St Mirren.
“I wasn’t aware of how Steve was feeling after the match when we met up for a beer.”
If the rivals are meeting up for a post-match drink, it looks as though tensions have abated.
The two go back a long way, as Clarke coached at Liverpool while Gerrard was still a player.
