“What has surprised me about Davis, in particular, is that he’s not just a footballer,” said Gerrard, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“He’s been very aggressive, working hard out of possession, regaining the ball and intercepting for us. Steven’s clever, he plays with his head up.
“At the top level in these games when you’re looking for players to make the difference, he’s one of them. His second pass is a simple one – but his first is the one that makes the difference.”

Davis set for Old Firm start
These qualities identified by the manager should stand Davis in good stead against Celtic.
The 34-year-old was left out at Parkhead last month, but performances since then dictate he’s highly likely to make the XI this time around.
The mixture of tenacity and quality he demonstrated against Hibs was the difference last weekend. Let’s hope he can produce some magic at Ibrox, for the second week running.
