Steven Gerrard has discussed the future of James Tavernier, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
The Rangers skipper had an outstanding 2018/19 campaign.
With 14 goals and 14 assists, he notched more direct goal involvements than any other SPL player.
Earlier this month, it was his second-minute free kick which opened the scoring in the win over Celtic at Ibrox.
After being so inluential, though, other clubs are bound to be monitoring him.
“Whenever a transfer window opens, there’s interest in Tav,” admitted Gerrard, as
quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“There have been calls about Tav with clubs interested. I am sure there still is. We’ve got a fantastic captain/manager relationship. We know his agent very well and, as with any player, I’m open to these chats at any time.
“The reality is, and I probably shouldn’t be saying this, but every player has his price.

“Every manager up and down the UK has the same issues. But I can’t be any clearer, I want my best players to stay at Rangers and Tav certainly comes into that bracket.”
Verdict
The ‘every player has his price’ line has been used a few times by Gerrard this season.
While things are improving financially, the club simply isn’t in a position to shut up shop and say players like Tav and Morelos aren’t for sale.
That should be a concern for Rangers fans. Tav is by far the best right-back in the country, and he was pivotal to the progress made this season.
Considering he played in all but three fixtures across all competitions, he would leave a gaping hole in the team if he left.
