New Rangers signing George Edmundson has revealed that when Steven Gerrard came knocking, it was something he couldn’t turn down.
The towering centre back was visibly excited as he spoke to RangersTV about joining the Glasgow giants.
Edmundson also described joining Rangers as “a dream come true” as he sent a message to supporters after signing a four-year deal at Ibrox.

“There were a few clubs interested but as soon as I heard Rangers were interested in me there was only one place I wanted to come,” Edmundson told Rangers.co.uk.
“I don’t really think it sunk in at first but after a few days and when I met Steven Gerrard it was unbelievable and I can’t wait to play under him.
“He has done everything there is to do in football so when he wants you to play for him you can’t turn that opportunity down.
“To play for him will be massive for me and I think I can learn loads and improve massively as a player.”
The young centre-half was full of enthusiasm and looks like a player who is determined to make a go of it at Ibrox.
It’s a considerable step-up from English League Two side Oldham Athletic, but one which George Edmundson appears to be relishing.

Signing a four-year deal, the defender is clearly someone Rangers see as having a bright future.

But can he hit the ground running and make an impression on Steven Gerrard’s side straight away?
Rangers fans will certainly be hoping so.
