Rangers’ facilities rival anything the English Premier League has to offer, according to Gareth McAuley.

The former West Brom centre-back has been to every top venue down south has to offer. With such experience in his locker, nobody is more suited to given an opinion on top-class facilities than the veteran defender.

Rangers have announced plans to develop their training centre and stadium in recent weeks. The Steven Gerrard revolution has lifted optimism around the club, and finally Rangers are showing some sustained growth.

McAuley believes it’s no surprise the club are on the up when you look at what Rangers have to offer. Speaking to the Official Rangers Podcast, McAuley said this when asked whether the facilities compare to down south.

“Definitely, yes. The facility here is unbelievable and it has got everything any young player needs to develop

“The information you get about the teams, everything is here to develop and I have been really impressed with it.

“We have got good players and we have got good young players as well that are going to develop into very good players for this club”

On the up both on and off the pitch

Rangers have really stepped it up this year with their plans to improve everything about the club. Gerrard’s appointment and subsequent improvement in the team shows that the club are finally getting things right.

Off it, however, work has already commenced to make sure the Hummel Training Centre continues to grow. Earlier this month, work began on building a new stand at the facility. A new education suite as well as a new lounge and dressing rooms are set to come into effect too.

It’s all go at the club these days, and fans will be excited to see what comes out of the new improvements. Rangers have been striving to get their academy working once more, with the likes of Jordan Houston, Stephen Kelly, Andrew Dallas, and Dapo Mebude threatening to break through.

Fans, however, will simply be delighted to see the work that’s gone into the club both on and off the pitch. McAuley’s views are just another little boost.
