Future Rangers star Fashion Sakala was left out of the KV Oostende squad as they signed off their season in style and humbled Ibrox Euro rivals Standard Liege.

The Belgian club have enjoyed a successful season in the Jupiler Pro League but narrowly missed out on European qualification.

AA Gent would top the Europa League playoff group with Oostende finishing third, four points behind the East Flanders side.

Sakala, 24, already said his farewell to KV Oostende after the club’s last home game, where he netted a double to take his tally to 16 for the season.

Whilst KV Oostende would throw away a two goal lead to wind up drawing their last game with Mechelen 2-2, they would have considerably differing fortunes against Standard.

Sakala was not included in the matchday squad for the game with the Mechelen double proving to be his last contribution in an Oostende shirt.

Kévin Vandendriessche got a double and Indy Boonen got the other as Oostende defeated Standard Liege 3-1. Michel-ange Balikwisha scored for Standard.

Sakala will now have Ibrox firmly in his sights as he prepares to take a break over the next few weeks before eventually moving to Glasgow.

Rangers fans are already very excited for the likable forward to make the switch and have been gearing up for his arrival online.

Some of the Ibrox support have already adopted a pop classic in honour of the striker as he prepares to touchdown in Govan.
