Further recognition for star just days after signing Rangers deal

There was more good news for Rangers midfielder Steven Davis, on Tuesday afternoon.
Just a matter of days ago, he made his loan move to Ibrox a permanent one.
The Northern Ireland skipper put pen to paper on a one-year deal which will see him patrolling the hallowed turf throughout the 2019/20 season.

In reaction to that show of faith from the club, the £2.7m-rated midfielder [Transfermarkt] helped the Gers to a 1-0 win over Hibernian on Sunday.
It was his efforts to win the ball back, before a deft touch to set up Jermain Defoe, that secured the three points for the Gers.

It wasn’t just that passage of play, though. His overall performance was excellent. When he’s in full flow, his distribution and decision-making is nothing short of superb.

Unsurprisingly, then, he has been named in the SPFL Team of the Week.

It’s the first time he’s earned an inclusion since his return to the club in January and it marks an impressive turnaround.
Well short of match fitness, he looked a shadow of his former self in the early stages after the move. He was widely criticised by fans after his display against St Johnstone in February, in particular.
All that is a distant memory now, though, and after another superb outing at the weekend, he thoroughly deserves this recognition.
