Free-agent former Rangers star Charlie Adam has checked in back at Ibrox as the ex-Gers midfielder returns to the stadium “where it all started”.
Adam has gone on to play for Blackpool, Liverpool, Stoke and Reading in an established career down south but the 34-year-old clearly retains a soft spot for home.
The visit to Ibrox also comes after the midfielder claimed he could still do a job for Gerrard’s side as Adam looks to secure a deal at a new club.
Even if believes it may well be an unlikely move.
“Everybody wants to play for a big club and everybody wants to contribute,” said Adam [GO Radio].
“Is it disappointing when the club are looking at positions where they want to improve? Do I feel that I could still contribute to Rangers? Absolutely.
“But the manager and the director of football want to go in a different way.
“They’ve got a big job on their hands this season and we’ll see what happens.
“Scottish football is where it started for me, it’s something I keep an eye on and I’d never rule anything out.”
Most recently having turned out for Reading, Adam is now a free agent after carving out a very successful career for himself down south.

But not all Rangers fans are happy with the midfielder after comments Adam made about the club’s financial capitulation in 2012.
Many haven’t forgiven Adam after he claimed he was “not interested” in what was happening at Ibrox and was only concerned for the fate of his younger brother and goalkeeper Grant.
