Four Lads Had a Dream’s Steven Clifford has reacted to an update surrounding Rangers boss Derek McInnes.
McInnes found himself in some hot water last season when he was in charge of Hearts, as he criticised the referee for handing a penalty to Celtic against Motherwell.
The Scottish FA have decided to take action, handing him a four-match touchline ban, with one game suspended, for those comments.
This ban will be served for professional games, meaning he will not be on the sidelines to call the shots for the Rangers‘ matches against Dundee United and Hibs, as well as a second-round clash in the Scottish League Cup.

Like most Rangers fans and arguably the majority of football fans, Clifford blatantly disagreed with the decision.
He took to X, to call it “absolutely laughable” as there was no reason for such a stringent ban to be handed.
Managers and fans often get caught up in the heat of the moment following games and tend to say things far more extreme than this.

His comments were not even about a game he managed, but it was just him offering his thoughts on another contest.
What he said was: “Quite disgusting,” before following it up with, “I shouldn’t be commenting on another game, but having seen that, it feels like us against everybody.”
Can McInnes or Rangers appeal this decision?
McInnes can appeal this ban handed to him by the SFA, provided Rangers decide to challenge the federation’s disciplinary panel’s decision.
He has been found guilty of breaching Disciplinary Rule 72, and the club would need to prove why he did not do such a thing.
It remains to be seen whether or not they decide to go ahead with it, but the option is most certainly on the table.
