Former Rangers youngster joins Pollok Juniors on loan

Former Rangers youngster Jordan McMillan has joined Scottish Junior side Pollok Juniors on loan until the end of January.

Currently contracted to Dumbarton, the former Rangers Academy right-back will now play for the Newlandsfield side until the end of next month.

Now 31, McMillan has played across Scottish football since leaving Ibrox and this is the latest chapter in a bit of a journeyman career in the country.

McMillan would make his Rangers debut in the League Cup back in 2009 when he started the 3-1 quarter-final win over Dundee at Dens Park.

The former Ibrox youngster would even appear in the Champions League for Rangers, coming on as a second-half substitute for Darren Cole in the 1-1 draw with Bursaspor in 2010.

In total McMillan made five appearances for Rangers [Soccerbase] but struggled to properly breakthrough into the first-team.

With opportunities limited, McMillan had numerous loan spells with the likes of Hamilton, Queen of the South and Wrexham during his time at Rangers.

But the youngster would eventually move on in search of first-team football when his contract expired in 2012, joining Dunfermline Athletic.

Since leaving Rangers McMillan’s career has also seen him play for Partick Thistle, Clyde, Cambuslang Rangers, Edusport, Dumbarton and now Pollok Juniors.

Things never truly happened for the now 31-year-old after leaving Rangers and he’ll have the full backing of the Ibrox support as he moves on to Pollok.
