Former Rangers trialist Andrew Gutman's Celtic move in doubt

A report by the Daily Mail via the Scottish Sun, suggests that a former Rangers trialist may not join Celtic after all.

While the latter is said to be close to an Ibrox switch, it looked like the former would soon be calling Parkhead home.
The 22-year-old was in the crowd for Celtic’s 4-0 win over St Mirren last week.

He even took part in two behind closed doors friendlies, against St Mirren and Arbroath.
However,

the report suggests that the American hasn’t been seen since the latter match.

Celtic had been said to be in competition with Chicago Fire, for his services.
Yet, their general manager, Nelson Rodriguez, is quoted by the Scottish Sun as saying Gutman had turned down their contract offer in favour of a move to Glasgow.
It appeared that the Hoops had been looking to strengthen their defensive reserves.

That would seem especially prudent, now that Filip Benkovic has picked up an injury.

There is no confirmation that this deal is off just yet.
However, Polster may now be the only American joining an Old Firm side this month.
