The former Charlton striker was linked with Ibrox back in January [originally The Scottish Sun] but opted for a move to West Yorkshire. His contract with Charlton was due to expire in the summer.
But the striker’s weekend double wasn’t enough for The Terriers as they fell to a 4-3 defeat at West Ham.
Karlan Grant joined Huddersfield for a reported £1.5m fee in January [Transfermarkt]. The 21 year old striker had been on scintillating form for Charlton in League One, banging in 14 goals before January for the London outfit.
But the former England youth international was always bound to move on with his contract running down. He opted for an early move to current Premier League outfit Huddersfield.
The weekend’s efforts were Grant’s second and third goals for Huddersfield. He also nabbed one against Arsenal in a 2-1 defeat back in February.
But the striker’s impact looks to have done little to inspire a turnaround at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Huddersfield remain rooked to the bottom of the Premier League table, sixteen points from safety. It looks like he’ll be playing in the Championship come next season, where he could yet face old side Charlton.
They currently sit fifth in the League One table.
