Rangers flop Umar Sadiq has continued his excellent recent form for Partizan Belgrade.

The 22-year-old forward endured an unsuccessful stint in Glasgow in 2018, on loan from Italian giants AS Roma. His only start for the club came in the League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen and having failed to net for the Gers, he returned to his parent club just a few months into his season-long deal.

Things are going much better for him in 2019/20, though. Other than one domestic game where he racked up several embarrassing misses, he has been in free-scoring form.

The £2.25m-rated frontman [Transfermarkt] scored a brace away at Kazakhstani side Astana in the Europa League back in October, and he backed that up on Thursday night with another double.

He showed composure in the final third, slotting home a simple finish in the 22nd minute, before rounding the opposition keeper and converting from a tight angle in the 76th minute, as the Serbian side bowed out of the competition with a 4-1 victory.

The two goals took Sadiq to an impressive tally of 16 for the season in all competitions, while he’s also registered 11 assists.

Having looked well out of his depth in that League Cup semi-final against the Dons last season, the Nigerian striker is proving there’s a player in there after all.
