The Daily Mail reports that former Rangers striker Joe Garner is set for a surprise move to the Indian Super League from Wigan Athletic.
Garner joined the Gers from Preston in 2016 and scored 10 goals in 37 appearances during his solitary season at Ibrox, with his combative performances winning over many supporters.

He returned to England in the summer of 2017 and after a season with Ipswich Town, he joined Wigan Athletic.
Garner has been a regular for the Latics since then, while he was one of the few first-team players to remain with the club when the scale of their financial instability came to light.
It seems his time at the DW Stadium is almost over, though, with the Daily Mail reporting that he’s close to a switch to Indian Super League side East Bengal.
The 32-year-old was left out of Wigan’s squad for their 0-0 draw with Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night and it’s claimed he has asked to be released early from his current contract in order to facilitate a move.

East Bengal are managed by Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler, with the former striker already signing former Wigan players Danny Fox and Anthony Pilkington in recent months.
The Indian Super League season only got underway on Friday and East Bengal are yet to play their first match, while Rangers’ club partners, Bengaluru FC, blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 away at Goa in their opener.
