They say it’s immensely rare that someone leaves Rangers and goes on to find better things, but Matt Crooks has at least found better form.

Now at Rotherham, Crooks has hit a rich vein of form in a more advanced role in English League One, with yet another Rotherham strike this weekend.

Crooks now has an incredible eight goals in 19 appearances for Rotherham this season, a long way away from his injury strewn spell at Ibrox.

Signed alongside Josh Windass in that Chairman riling deal from Accrington Stanley back in 2016, Crooks never settled at Ibrox and neither did his fitness.

It never happened for the big Englishman at Ibrox and his Rangers career was pretty much summed up by that woeful performance in a 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle.

Crooks was very highly rated before his move to Ibrox and this isn’t the first time his performances with Rotherham have caught the eye up north.

The midfielder hit a double against Ipswich as he led the Millers to a 2-0 win over the Tractor Boys in a performance which pretty much summed up his renaissance.

Now on form at Rotherham, it’s been quite the rise from a challenging if short spell in Glasgow.
