Tom Walsh was subbed off in the 20th minute as Inverness CT came from behind to beat Partick Thistle 2-1 in Tuesday evening’s Scottish Championship promotion play-off first leg.
It is not clear how serious the injury is, but the former Ibrox winger was seen clutching his Achilles as he was was replaced by Lewis Hyde at Firhill.
The 25-year-old was highly rated during his time at Ibrox and was handed his debut by former boss Ally McCoist in a 2-0 win over Stirling Albion all the way back in December 2012 – a match that celebrated the club’s 140th Anniversary.
He struggled to feature as the club rose through the divisions from 2012-2014 and started to get a run in the team during the 2014-2015 run to the play-off final against Motherwell, adding a much needed attacking threat to Stuart McCall’s side.
When new manager Mark Warburton arrived that summer, he continued to keep his place and started the first couple of games of the new season but soon fell out of favour for a rejuvenated Barrie McKay and never made another appearance for the club.

Loan spells at Ayr United and Dumbarton followed but it was not enough for the youngster to get his place back and was released by Warburton in January 2017.
He then joined League of Ireland side Limerick FC and after a season back at Dumbarton was signed by Inverness CT in 2018 where it seemed he finally found his feet.
After signing for promotion chasing Ayr United in 2020, he returned to Inverness CT last summer where he has scored four goals and had four assists, helping them to the play-offs.

The return leg of the tie is on Friday at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium with the winners facing a much improved Arboarth to have the opportunity to face the 11th placed club in the Scottish Premiership and the chance to gain promotion to the big time.
