Former Rangers player John Fleck made his first Sheffield United start since his harrowing collapse in November against Birmingham on Friday evening and helped the side come from a goal down to win 2-1 and secure three points.
Fleck was playing against Reading on November 23 last year when he collapsed on the pitch. Play was halted for eleven minutes as he received medical attention before he got back to his feet with the use of an oxygen mask and was taken to hospital.

The 30-year-old was discharged the following day after suffering the terrible incident and one that he has made an excellent recovery from.
John Fleck shines on first start since November 23
Although Fleck had made fleeting appearances for Sheffield Utd since his on-pitch collapse, the tie against Birmingham was his first start and he excelled.
Former Rangers midfielder Juninho Bacuna grabbed an assist as Birmingham went 1-0 up on the hour mark.
With the Blades embarking on a decent run of form, this deficit didn’t seem to bother them as Billy Sharp equalised followed by Fleck assisting Jayden Bogle, ironically the person that scored the winner on his last start, to ensure they secured the win and maintain their playoff aspirations.
With Fleck hopefully ready to kick on, Sheffield Utd has a good chance of grabbing one of the four playoff spots available.
The midfielder was a youth prodigy at Rangers, winning the Scottish Cup at only 16 years of age. Unfortunately, he didn’t utilise his potential at the club, but he has done remarkably well to have an excellent career south of the border.

Hopefully, we can see him continuing to perform well and starring in the Premier League in the near future.
In other news, Rangers’ hopes of winning the title rest on keeping Ryan Jack fit for the remainder of the season.
