Former Rangers defender Joe Worrall won the man of the match award in Nottingham Forest’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in the FA Cup as their giant-killing run comes to an end at the quarter-final stage.
This comes as West Ham are reportedly interested in signing the player [TheSun] after some fantastic performances of late.
Forest could count themselves unlucky following a battling performance that deserved more than a narrow defeat as they had some chances to at least draw the match, but it is Liverpool who will prevail thanks to a Diego Jota goal.

Worrall was at the Ibrox side for a season-long loan spell under Steven Gerrard in the 2018/2019 season and you would be hard-pressed to find any Gers fans who thought he might have been worth £15m plus as he didn’t exactly have the greatest spell at the club.
Since heading back to Forest, he has continued to impress, and this has been justified with the Premier League interest intensifying around him.
At just 25, he still has plenty of years left at the top and if the hierarchy at Rangers knew just how much he would go on to improve following his Ibrox spell, then we may have been tempted to sign the centre-back on a permanent deal.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing and we signed Filip Helander in the summer following Worrall’s departure and that has worked out fairly well.
It goes to show that Scottish football isn’t the easy option that many players and pundits down in England think it is, so many have struggled coming up north and think it’s going to be a walk in the park.
Full credit to Worrall and hopefully he can get his big-money move to the Premier League.
