Former Rangers player Greg Stewart has been at it again with Indian Super League side Jamshedpur as he scored twice in a 3-0 victory over Kerala Blasters as they are aiming to win their first-ever ISL crown.

Stewart scored two penalties, either side of a strike from Daniel Chima Chukwu to dispatch Kerala Blasters in clinical fashion and secure second spot, just one point behind league leaders Hyderabad.

Having only been formed in 2017, Jamshedpur entered the ISL ahead of the 2017/2018 season and has been improving steadily ever since. They look like genuine title contenders this season and Stewart has excelled so far since his move from the Gers.

The 31-year-old didn’t exactly set the world on fire during his spell in Glasgow, however, he always gave his all when called upon and won a league winners medal as the Ibrox side strolled to title number 55 last season.

If he can continue this fine form, then there is an excellent chance that a first ISL title can be won. Although his spell at the Gers wasn’t the greatest, there is no doubt that he is a fine footballer and simply didn’t get as many opportunities under Steven Gerrard as he deserved.

It is always good seeing former players shining elsewhere, no matter how big or small a role he played, Stewart will forever be part of the squad that won the club’s most important league title.

The forward doesn’t just score penalties either, as his freekick against Kerala Blasters in December goes to show.
