Former Rangers player Greg Stewart has made history with his new side Jamshedpur as they have won their first major honour in their short history by claiming the Indian Super League Winners Shield following their win over Mohun Bagan.
The side, led by Owen Coyle, hadn’t previously won a trophy since they were founded in 2017, and Stewart’s arrival has a lot to do with the success.
The 31-year-old has reached double figures in the league this season with ten goals and ten assists, which have led Jamshedpur to the top of the pile after some excellent performances.

The season isn’t over though, with the top four in the league table advancing to the playoffs to see who will be crowned the overall champions. With the form that they are in, however, you wouldn’t back anyone else to triumph.
Stewart is having quite the Indian summer following his summer exit from the Ibrox side and has settled into the ISL with ease.
Highlights included a stunning freekick against Kerala Blasters as well as a hattrick earlier on in the campaign which set the tone for what was to come.
Although it didn’t work out for Stewart at Rangers, no one could fault his determination and that he gave 100% every time he was called upon.
Being part of the squad, which won the Scottish Premiership crown last season and ended our ten-year title drought, he will go down in the club’s history and his contribution won’t be forgotten.
It is a testament to his ability that he put the disappointment of his Gers spell behind him and is showing exactly what sort of player he is by leading his new side to silverware in his debut season.
