Former Rangers star Kevin Thomson is close to leading League Two side Kelty Hearts to the title following an excellent first senior managerial season in charge of the Fife side.
The former Gers midfielder took over from ex-teammate Barry Ferguson in the summer and has led the team to the brink of title success, as they are 14 points clear with nine matches remaining.

They have won their previous four league matches as the season enters its final furlong and surely it is only a matter of when and not if they can celebrate promotion.
Former Rangers star Kevin Thomson close to Kelty Hearts success as bright future awaits
There is no doubt that Thomson has a bright future in this management business, with his first senior role going exactly how he expected it to.
Although Kelty has the finances to match their burning ambition, this doesn’t always translate to success, but the appointment of the 37-year-old has been inspired by the chairman.
His work with the Rangers youth teams combined with coaching at his own academy saw the player get his chance in the senior game and he hasn’t looked back.
This success is just the start for Thomson, as it is no secret that he wants to move into full-time management. The Scot even interviewed for the vacant Kilmarnock post in January before he led Kelty to a famous Scottish Cup upset over St Johnstone.

The job ended up going to Derek McInnes, but a role in the upper echelons of the Scottish football pyramid awaits the man who is about to lead Kelty to a historic League Two title.
