Former Rangers star Nikola Katic shows the Ibrox club what they’re missing by scoring a screamer for new club FC Zurich amid an Ibrox centre-back injury crisis.
FC Zurich are currently rooked to the bottom of the Swiss Super League but the club roared back into form over the weekend with a 4-1 win over Servette – only their second of the season.
Tosin Aiyegun might’ve scored a hattrick in the match but it would be ex-Rangers star Nikola Katic who stole the day after the centre-back scored a long-range screamer in the clash.
Katic showed expert composure to volley the ball dropping from the sky past the helpless Servette goalkeeper in a strike that will surely win him plenty of fans in Europe.
The result also hauled FC Zurich up to 12 points, but the club are still four points adrift from safety at the bottom of the Swiss top flight.

The big Croatian defender, 26, moved to Switzerland and FC Zurich in the summer and has quickly set about making an impression on the Super League side.
Having suffered an excruciating cruciate ligament injury ahead of the 2020 season, Katic spent the last campaign on loan in his homeland with Hajduk Split where he won the Croatian Cup.
But this was not enough to convince the Ibrox hierarchy to keep Nikola Katic around and the player has been open since about his frustrations regarding leaving Rangers.
There are stark similarities with the exit of Leon Balogun, another centre-back who had previously pledged his allegiances tot the club, with the Nigerian impressing at QPR.
Back at Ibrox, Rangers have toiled for defensive consistency all season with first choice centre-backs Connor Goldson, Filip Helander, John Souttar and Ben Davies all carrying issues.
This means teenage defender Leon King has played in 20 games this season with the teenager partnering James Sands at centre-back for the 1-1 draw with St Mirren.
Rangers fans have began to revolt on the club’s management and boardroom and the situation with Nikola Katic may wind up just another example of squad management gone wrong at Ibrox.
