Former Rangers forward Steven Naismith is set to sign for Hearts on Thursday, according to the Scottish Sun.
The 32-year-old won three league titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cups during a five-year stint with the Gers. During that time, he netted 28 times in just shy of 100 league appearances [Soccerbase].

However, he turned from hero to villain in the eyes of many Gers fans due to the manner of his exit from the club during the financial issues of 2012.
After spending six years in England with Everton and Norwich, he returned to the SPL on loan with Hearts in 2018.
That stint lasted for 18 months, but there was a degree of uncertainty over his future by the end of last season when both his Tynecastle loan and Canaries contract expired.

Former Rangers star Naismith set for permanent deal
However, the Scottish Sun reports that a permanent deal with the Gers’ rivals should be sealed before the opening day of the league season. Craig Levein’s side’s first assignment is away at Aberdeen on Sunday, following Rangers’ trip to Kilmarnock.
It’s a big boost for the Jambos, as Naismith scored ten goals in 19 appearances last season.
He’s likely to continue to receive a fairly hostile reception at Ibrox, though, when the Edinburgh side travels to Glasgow in November.
