Former Rangers player Greg Stewart continues to shine for Indian Super League side Jamshedpur as he has notched ten goals and ten assists in his short spell with the club, only the second player to do so after Hugo Boumous in the same season.

It has been an extraordinary start to life in India for the Scot as he continues to inspire his side towards a title challenge, with the club sitting first in the league as they aim to carry on this excellent form into the season-ending playoffs.

There have been some fantastic highlights for Stewart in India, his hattrick against Odisha and the wonderful free-kick he scored on Boxing Day against Kerala Blasters will live long in the memory and prove what a great player he is, despite his lack of chances at Ibrox.

Greg Stewart excels in the Indian Super League with Jamshedpur after Rangers move

There is absolutely no doubt the 31 year was talented when he arrived at the Gers in 2019, unfortunately, he found opportunities hard to come by minus a six-month spell in his debut season.

Regardless of the lack of opportunities in his two-season spell in Glasgow, Stewart will always be remembered as part of the title-winning squad which won our finest ever league crown.

His spell at Jamshedpur has been an overwhelming success and he is close to leading the side to the ISL title, whilst also continuing to break records at the club.

To get to double digits in your first season in a new league and environment is a testament to his ability and what a good player he is.

I’m sure every Rangers fan will be hoping he continues to shine.

Meanwhile, new Champions League format changes could financially benefit Rangers when they come into play in 2024.
