Less than a week ago, Kyle Lafferty signed for Sarpsborg.
It looked a bizarre move from the 6ft 4″ Northern Ireland international, considering the state of affairs at the Norwegian club.
Over halfway through the season, they sat rock bottom of the Eliteserien, with just two wins from 19 matches.
Making his debut, things got off to a nightmarish start, too.
Likely keen to make an impression in the early stages in his first competitive club outing since a Gers win away at Hearts on 20 April, the 32-year-old picked up a booking in the second minute.
While there was to be no debut goal or assist against Viking Stavanger, his new side did take a rare 2-0 lead, courtesy of goals from Magnar Odegaard and Mustafa Abdellaoue, either side of half-time.
Yet, things would soon unravel for Lafferty and subsequently, his teammates.

The big man was given a second yellow card for simulation and sent off in the 69th minute. Losing a man signalled a momentum shift too and the visitors scored in the 85th and 90th minutes to salvage a draw.
Rather than making a positive impression, then, Lafferty undermined what at one stage looked set to be a comfortable home win. Hardly the ideal start to his time in Norway.
He now faces several weeks out of action. That because he’s been left out of the Northern Ireland squad to face Germany and Luxembourg [BBC Sport], while he will be suspended for his new club’s upcoming game against Valerenga this following week.
