Former Rangers player Jason Holt has been hit with an SFA ban following a reckless challenge in Livingston’s defeat to St Mirren on Saturday [Scottishfa.co.uk].
Holt was one of six players released by Rangers in the summer at the expiration of their contracts and after a short period as a free agent, he penned a two-year deal with Livi in August.

Since then, he’s established himself in Gary Holt’s midfield, racking up 15 appearances in all competitions.
However, he will miss his side’s next two matches after he accepted a notice of complaint for a reckless challenge on St Mirren’s Brandon Mason.
“The club received a Fast-Track Notice of Complaint from the Compliance Officer yesterday (Tuesday 24th November) informing us that Jason Holt was in breach of Disciplinary Rule 200 when a challenge during Saturday’s match against St Mirren that he made was not seen by any of the match officials at the time it was committed,” confirmed Livingston FC in a statement. “The challenge has been deemed an act of serious foul play, an (A1) sending-off offence.”
“Jason will now serve a 2-match ban immediately, including this weekend’s cup competition.”
The challenge was certainly reckless and it’s remarkable that Holt didn’t receive any punishment at the time.
Holt, who made 115 appearances during his five-year stint at Ibrox, will now be unavailable for a League Cup clash against Ayr United and a Premiership fixture against Dundee United.
