Charlie Adam has shared brilliant old footage of him signing his first Rangers contract.
The content originates from the ‘Blue Heaven’ series and was initially posted by the popular ‘Rangers Clips’ Twitter account.
After introducing Adam as an ambitious young footballer from Dundee, the clip shows the then-teenager at Ibrox as he prepares to sign a three-year deal with the club as an apprentice.
He’s told of the importance of working hard and fulfilling his potential, with an incentive of £1000 provided for each first-team appearance he makes over the course of the contract.
His parents look on proudly as he puts pen to paper before the cameras follow them out to the pitch for a photoshoot.
Adam shared the post to his 462,000 Twitter followers on Saturday afternoon, writing “Amazing memories”.
The midfielder went on to represent the Rangers first team on 77 occasions, scoring 15 goals.
However, after growing frustrated at a lack of starting opportunities, he joined Blackpool on loan in 2009 before later making the move permanent.
After playing a key role in guiding the Seasiders to the Premier League, he impressed in his first season in the English top-flight and was promptly signed by Liverpool.
After a year at Anfield, the former Scotland international signed for Stoke City and made 179 appearances for the Potters.
In September, aged 34, following a brief stint at Reading, he finally returned to Scottish football, signing a two-year contract with hometown club, Dundee.
The Dee are currently sixth in the Scottish Championship but the ex-Ger has enjoyed an excellent individual start to the campaign, scoring five goals and notching two assists in his first six appearances.
