Leeds United linked with former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard

The Italian news outlet has claimed that Leeds have identified former Rangers boss Gerrard as a candidate to take charge of the first team.

Earlier this afternoon, the Premier League club got rid of Jesse Marsch.

This came after a 1-0 defeat to fellow relegation candidates Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Premier League at the weekend.

Leeds are 17th in the Premier League table at the moment with 18 points from 20 matches, level on points with third-from-bottom Everton, who have played 21 games.

TMW have added that Leeds are also looking at West Bromwich Albion manager Carlos Corberan.

Struggling after Rangers exit

Steven Gerrard did well at Rangers.

After all, the Liverpool legend guided the Gers to the Scottish Premiership title in 2020-21.

Rangers also reached the final of the Scottish League Cup in 2019-20 under the Englishman.

However, the way Gerrard left Rangers when Aston Villa came calling was not great really.

And we know how it ended for the former England international midfielder at Villa Park.

He was sacked by the Premier League club earlier this season.

Unai Emery replaced Gerrard at Villa Park, and the Villans are now flying under the former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain manager.
