Former Rangers forward Jason Cummings continued his promising form on Saturday, by scoring the winner for Shrewsbury Town against Sunderland.
The 24-year-old is currently rebuilding his career after a tumultuous few seasons.
After falling out of favour at Nottingham Forest, the Edinburgh-born striker joined the Gers on loan in 2018.

He scored six goals in all competitions during his Ibrox stint, including a hat-trick in the Scottish Cup against Falkirk [Soccerbase], but didn’t do enough to earn a permanent deal.
He then went out on loan a further two times, to Peterborough United and Luton Town, but off-field issues and patchy form marked his stints.
Released by Nottingham Forest in the summer, he eventually joined Shrewsbury Town in an attempt at a fresh start.

So far, it’s going well.
Before this weekend, he had three goals in seven appearances for the Shrews, including two in his first two [Soccerbase].
22 minutes into today’s game, though, he made his biggest contribution so far by scoring what would be a match-winning goal against the Black Cats. After being picked out in the box by Josh Laurent, he tucked away a confident first-time finish into the bottom left corner.

Despite late pressure from the visitors, Shrewsbury held on to go twelfth in the table.
While he wasn’t quite deemed good enough for a permanent Rangers deal following Steven Gerrard’s arrival, Cummings was popular during his time at Ibrox and there’s never been any doubt that he knows where the goal is.
After plenty of upheaval in recent seasons, it’s good to see him getting back to producing once more.
