Rangers have seen one of their former employees join the English Championship club West Brom.
The Gers are building for the future under Danny Rohl, and he has been calling the shots on a number of backroom decisions.
The German has been given the staff of his choice and that decision has paid off, with Rangers in touching distance of the top spot in the Scottish Premiership table.
Danny Rohl has lost just one league game as Rangers manager…
If YOU were to change one thing about his management style for next season, what would it be? 🤔
Matt Gill takes to LinkedIn to confirm he has joined West Brom
Matt Gill confirmed at the start of March on LinkedIn that he had officially joined West Brom.
The Englishman was a part of Russell Martin’s coaching staff and moved to Ibrox with him at the start of the season.
He was on the books of Rangers as the Assistant Head Coach and left the Gers, along with Martin, in October.
Prior to that, he was with the former Light Blues manager at Swansea, Southampton and MK Dons.
Andrew Cavenagh has issued a HUGE update about the club’s finances…
What have YOU made of his impact as the Chairman? 🤔
However, he has now decided to look for a change in his career, joining the Baggies as the interim first-team coach.
His contract at the Hawthorns runs out at the end of the season, and a decision will then be taken about his future.
Gill wrote: “After leaving Rangers it’s been great to spend some time off with the family after living away from them for the first time.
“It has also given me the chance to watch some football at various levels and experience different environments whilst also continuing a bit of personal development.
“I’m now pleased to share I’ve taken the opportunity to join WBA as interim first team coach until the end of the season.”

Why Rangers may regret losing a coach of Gill’s calibre
While parting ways with Martin was the right call, the Ibrox outfit may regret not trying to keep Gill on board.
He has a strong record in technical development and working with youngsters, so he could have helped the academy prospects transition to become first-team players.
Gill is known to have a calm and player-focused approach to coaching, something that Danny Rohl would not mind having as part of his coaching staff.
The 45-year-old also had a pretty impressive playing career, making over 400 senior appearances, and also holds a UEFA A Licence.
It remains to be seen how he fares at West Brom and whether or not Rangers are tempted to bring him back over the summer.
