On Tuesday, stand out Rangers midfielder, Ross McCrorie, was named in the SPFL Team of the Week.

The 20-year-old put in another great shift against Kilmarnock, which clinched his second inclusion in the dream team in a matter of months.

Alongside him, was a former Rangers Academy teammate.

Tom Lang.

The defender spent the 2015-16 season in the Gers development setup, but didn’t quite make the grade.

Since then, he has found it difficult to nail down a long-term deal.

In 2017, for example, he had short, relatively unsuccessful stints at both Dumbarton and Stranraer.

However, things have picked up over recent times.

He secured a short-term deal at Clyde a year ago and was retained for this season.

Now, he is an important part of a push for promotion.

In the 21-year-old centre-back’s last five outings, Clyde have conceded just once.

That’s an impressive defensive record and it has helped them to reach third in the Scottish League Two table.

At the weekend, his side were the victims of an impressive late equaliser from Rangers loanee, Kyle Bradley, away at Annan Athletic.

Yet, that wasn’t enough to prevent his selection in the Team of the Week.

His inclusion is sure to bring a confidence boost for a young defender who didn’t quite make the grade at Ibrox, but is now starting to find his feet in the senior game.
