Former Rangers winger Jordan Jones has signed a loan deal to return to the SPFL with St Mirren [DailyRecord] as he looks set to put a terrible six-month spell behind him at Wigan.
Jones joined Rangers from Kilmarnock in 2019 as Steven Gerrard signed the winger on a pre-contract deal after he had impressed for the Ayrshire side and at the time, looked like a decent addition.

It didn’t really work out for Jones at Ibrox, his career got off to an inauspicious start following a red card against Celtic and then a breach of Covid-19 restrictions appeared to be the last straw for the player under Gerrard.
Jordan Jones returns to the SPFL with St Mirren and aims to replicate Kilmarnock form
The Northern Irishman looks set to return to the form which sought Rangers to sign him in 2019 and St Mirren could be the ideal place to start.
“I really enjoyed my time up here. I had a great time with Kilmarnock and spent some time with Rangers as well.” Jones said to Renfrewshire Live Sport – cited by Belfast Telegraph.
“It hasn’t quite worked out for me at Wigan and I’m at a stage in my career where I feel it’s vital for me to play every week.
“Jim made me feel like I’d be a valued member of the squad here. He’s seen me play in Scotland and knows and believes in what I can do.”
These comments suggest that the player requires regular game time, something that he just wasn’t getting at Wigan, and still only 27, he could still have some of his best years ahead of him.

It was just a case of the wrong place at the wrong time for Jones at Rangers, but I’m sure many of the Rangers faithful will be keen to see him terrorising defences in the Premiership.
