Former Rangers boss Alex McLeish has given an update on his future, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times.
The 60-year-old, who was sacked from the Scotland manager’s job in April after just 12 matches in charge [The Guardian], was back in the dugout for the Rangers vs Liverpool legends fixture at the weekend.
For now, he says he’s happy with a spell out of the limelight but isn’t ruling out a return to management down the line.

Former Rangers boss McLeish on job offers
“I’m having a break,” he said, as quoted by the Glasgow Evening Times. “I’ve had two or three approaches from different countries and continents – and from England as well.”
“But I’m just taking a break, I’m not committing myself to anything just now.”
Verdict
McLeish has achieved a lot in his time in management. Particularly, during a five year period at Ibrox, where he won seven major trophies, including two Premiership titles.
He’s held ten management posts in all, in a varied career. Having coached in continental Europe with Genk and even in Africa with Zamalek, he’s previously shown a willingness to go far afield. He also has years of experience of coaching in England, after stints in charge at Birmingham City, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest.
However, it’s perhaps a little surprising that he’s had multiple approaches since his much-maligned spell in charge of the national team.

The Scotland job has been his only post since 2016, and there was a general consensus that he was too old fashioned to get results out of a talented, but grossly underperforming squad.
His perceived failings at Hampden don’t seem to have put others off, though.
He may be taking a break for now, but it looks as though the hunger hasn’t left Big Eck yet and it’s more a question of when rather than if he will return to football.
