Former Premier League side Blackpool are reportedly set to make a permanent move for Rangers keeper Jak Alnwick.

The Englishman is currently on loan with the Seasiders and has been an impressive addition to Simon Grayson’s side, who now play in League One.

According to Football Insider, Rangers have entered discussions with Blackpool for a permanent move in January as it represents the last chance to recoup a fee for the player.

With his contract set to expire in the summer, Alnwick would be free to discuss a move with Blackpool come the winter window.

But Football Insider claims that due to his form Rangers are also open to accepting offers from other clubs for the player’s services.

This could well mean that Blackpool are put in a position where they must either stump up a modest fee for the player or risk losing him altogether come the end of the season.

Alnwick has cemented himself as first-choice at Bloomfield Road, starting all 19 of their league matches this season and conceding only 22.

Blackpool famously had a season in the Premier League but after being relegated in 2011 and subsequently tumbling down the divisions, on-loan Rangers stopper Alnwick will be hoping to do his bit in helping them climb back up.

Simon Grayson’s side currently sits in 4th place in English League One.
